The First Issue

TONIGHT is the official launch party of the much-anticipated Spittoon Literary Magazine.

The release party will take place at Ballhouse bar in Gulou, next to the bell tower, from 8pm until late. There will be performances from some of Beijing’s best musical acts as well as short readings by 4 writers featured in the magazine.

Free entry and a free magazine will be given to all contributors to the magazine, as well as the first 30 people to arrive after 8pm, so come early. Otherwise, we will ask for a small fee of 30RMB at the door, which includes a magazine and the chance to celebrate the first issue of a publication that’s truly one-of-a-kind in China.

Showcased in the magazine, which will be sold inside at a discounted price, are English language poems, fiction, flash fiction, poetry-in-translation, and illustrations.
