Spittoon is proud to announce its Xi’an chapter — bringing the collective to one of China’s most historically significant cities. Spittoon Xi’an’s first event takes place on Tuesday 19th January at 8pm at ShuyuanMen Hostel, South Gate, Xi’an.

“I think Xi’an and Spittoon is a wonderful match. It’s been one year since I’ve moved here from Beijing and even during 2020, our community responds at the chance to be creative. The rumours that Spittoon is coming has already created a new exciting buzz of artistic energy and people want in. Xi’an might not have the famous artistic vibrancy of the mega cities of China, but there is a universe of hidden stories, dreams, and ideas just under the surface. Writers, musicians, and artists of all kinds are ready. Xi’an is hallowed literary ground, and as the great Tang poet Du Fu said, ‘Having studied the world, one must seek joy.’ I hope Spittoon will help us Xianese find a new source of joy.”
