Spittoon Shenzhen launches on 1st October at ARC Cocktail Bar, Futian District — a bilingual poetry and fiction reading night welcoming both English and Mandarin performers from across the city. Co-hosted by SQR Media and Toastmasters. Doors at 7pm.

At Spittoon we believe in the power of creativity and the power of words. We know that power multiplies when shared. Come to relax, come to listen, but most importantly come to be a part of the universal magic of spoken word.

Your Hosts

Matt (SQR) — An American in China since 2016, English teacher turned video game story writer and editor. A lover of words and the ideas expressed within, currently running a creative writing community in Shenzhen.

Zoe (Toastmasters) — From Jiangxi province to Shenzhen in pursuit of her dreams. Totally unsatisfied with boredom and normalcy. Never one to shy away from a challenge, especially not a literary one.
